Should Mark Hughes search for another attacking option?

Stoke City finished the 2015-16 season of the Premier League on the 9th spot after having collected a total of 51 points in 38 matches.

Mark Hughes and the fans of the club want to see the squad doing a better job in the next season and signing a few new players can greatly help out the club in this journey.

One of the names that have been linked with Stoke City is SaidoBerahino of West Bromwich Albion. Berahino is a 23 year old attacker who has received praise by the media as he is a player that emulates Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o with a playing style that is similar to them in one way or another.

In order for Stoke City to finish in a higher spot in the Premier League, one of the departments that certainly needs to be improved is the attacking section as Marko Arnautovic was the top goal-scorer of Stoke City during the 2015-16 season as the Austrian attacker scored 11 goals which is not a bad amount of goals but Mark Hughes is setting his sights on someone who can either become the new main attacking outlet of his team or someone that can further increase the goals of Arnautovic, a more reliable player.

Mark Hughes was envisioning SaidoBerahino as the player that can boost the goal-scoring options for his squad but there has not been any significant progress in his attempt to sign the young Englishman and it might be better off for him to change his summer target.

“He is obviously a player of another club and if they don’t want to sell, or have no intention of selling, then there is nothing we can do to affect that.We just have to be patient and if the situation changes then we will be ready to sit down and talk, I’m sure, but in the last few weeks that doesn’t seem to have moved on to any great extent. He is an outstanding young talent but you need a lot of boxes ticked and all the ducks in a row before any deal happens’’ Mark Hughes said as he revealed information in relation to his task of signing SaidoBerahino.

The summer transfer window still has more than 20 days left before it reaches it’s end which is plenty of time for Mark Hughes to try and secure the services of SaidoBerahino but this transfer just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen and there are other offensive players such as: Christian Benteke, Loic Remy and Wilfried Bony who could be easier to sign than Berahino.
